| | I am kind of a xanga slacker. Hopefully, you all haven't given up on my page. Five weeks and then I can guarantee there will be many more posts:) (No school:))
So, I am drinking my tea and starting to plan for tomorrow's half day:) and I decided to think a minute. Last week I was at a conference where I had the opportunity to present something from the last year. I have seen the film, Crash a few times and decided to spring board off of that. I mean, those of us who work with people daily, isn't this sort of our experience? No, we don't exactly verbalize it as Ludacris's character did nor yell racist things bluntly as someone of a different race fixes our door locks. It's been cool to also introduce this idea to my students. How we all come into the same room at the same time daily, and yet we carry an ever-changing story with us. And I love the idea of crashing into each other's lives. Conflict is a part of it. We are changed because of our experiences. Just today, I had another crashing experience...they leave me wondering and savoring such a sweetness--or maybe its the fascination of "not knowing." I can't veralize it yet.
Oh, if i learn to listen more than assume and ask questions more than I reprimand.
Enjoy reading your posts. Happy May:) |
